Utah Jazz 2006-07 Season
Last year the Utah Jazz overcame a slump that they had fallen into in the previous seasons. There were many factors that contributed to their performance last season. One factor is that the Jazz had a healthy Carlos Boozer for the majority of the season. Carlos Boozer was elected to the All-Star team and among the league leaders in rebounds and double doubles. Boozer added a presence to this Utah team that was not had in previous seasons when he spent most of his time on the sidelines with injuries. Boozer was not alone in the paint though. Mehmet Okur had a standout season as well. Okur was among the elite centers in the league using his defense and his outside shooting to power him to his first All-Star selection. Okur was the man the Jazz went to late in the fourth quarter when they needed a clutch three-pointer. He rarely let his team and his fans down. Deron Williams was the man that led the team out there on the court. The young second year player was among the leagues best in passing. He added a spark to the team that hasn’t been there since John Stockton was at the helm. Three superstars were not all the Jazz had last season. A very deep bench contributed to their huge season. Guys like Matt Harpring and rookie Paul Millsap led the Utah charge off the bench. Millsap being the first Jazz man to be elected to the All-Rookie team in years had a big season and has a bright future before him. These guys and a lot of other factors are what propelled the Jazz to the Western Conference finals in 2007. Hopefully we will see more winning in the season to come.

The Jazz are definitely on a role. They have a great team that seems to play well together. My question is AK-47, what is his deal? Is he giving his all this season, since he wants out of here so badly? It seems like he is playing well, but could he be giving more?
it is great to have a brother in law like you. it makes me happy that you work so hard to support your family. keep it up. i can’t wait for another nephew, or a neice. he/she will be so cute. congratulations.
Go Utah Jazz!!!
Thanks for being such a loving husband to sarah. i hope you guys succeed in all you do.
Go Utah Jazz!!!!
Okay, since you are talking about the Jazz, we have to bring up Kirilenko. It’s never good to play in a situation where you don’t feel confident, or comfortable. It doesn’t sound to me like he is. I get the impression that he feels underrated in Utah, when he was the star before (I could be wrong). I guess he and the coach have come to terms and things will be better. We will have to see. I don’t know how he has been doing so far this season. The question I bring up is do you have to be the star. There are always a few stars out there, but the better teams, are those who play as a team and try and win together. Not, trying to be the hero. I have not seen Kirilenko play much, but my bet is there are some changes that could be made to help him, but that this is a different league than the one he played in as the star. Can he be a star here? Having said all that, I hope he has a great season. What are your thoughts?
How about that Jazz! How about the hustle play of Brewer, Milsap, Harpring, Kirilenko and even Memo? We expect D. Will and Boozer to consistently come through, so with all this hustle if they could just defend the 3 pointer a little the Jazz should be on their way to a great year.
To all those that venture in the paint against the Jumpin Jazz…. If you dare, you had best beware!
Haven’t got to see enough of the this year but I just got done watching and working during the Cleveland game. What a bunch of wild and wooley exchanges there were in that one!
Once again, you tought me more about the Jazz then I’ve ever known before! I did know that they were doing well this past season and I think I even watched a game or two. Hopefully they just keep getting better. It would be nice to have a good basketball team in Utah again. They did it once, I know they can do it again! You’re a very good writter by the way!!
Once again….GO JAZZ!!!
Very interesting:
I learned more about the Jazz than I have ever known, as I don’t think I have ever watched a complete game; maybe now I will find the time to watch more often.
I’m glad you are doing so well in your schooling.

Go Jazz… Go Jazz…. Go! Go! Go Jazz,….
Well being in AK we only got to see the Jazz play last year when they played the Bulls (because of our only “outside” station WGN from Chicago)! It was fun and they looked good – However, we didn’t even know that Ak-47 (not to be confused with AK-49 [that's us up here])was upset with the Jazz. Just another example of PRIDE doing what it does best **Destroying**! Pride, in any form, can only be compared to Cancer. Cancer runs rampent in the NBA today and personally I am sick and tired of it. I long for the good old days when basketball was a team sport and thus a FUN sport to watch and enjoy. I really do hope that the Jazz and AK have made peace with each other. After all they really are the closest thing we have nowadays to a REAL Basketball TEAM!
I like the jazz, but wish John Stockton were back!
